Apple is a great ingredient when it comes to making sweet dishes. A number of apple recipes are there which everyone enjoys. Especially, apple pie is a dish which is savored by everyone. Apple pie is a simple fruit pie dish in which the main ingredient is apple. Here's providing you with an easy recipe of apple pie.
Preparation Time : 65- 70 minutes
Serving : Makes one 9 inch pie
Ingredients:
6 large-sized apples
3/4 cup water
2 cups self-rising flour 125 g butter
2 tablespoons water
Sugar to taste
For pastry:
2 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
Method:

Bring to boil and keep boiling until cooked. Drain excess water and cool.
Sieve flour into a mixing bowl and add sugar and butter. Rub in with fingers until mixture looks like crumbs.
Beat egg in a small bowl and add to the above mixture. Then, add water.
Roll out half of the mixture adding flour as required. Grease a 9 inch pie dish with butter and spread a thin layer of flour over it.
Place the above rolled out pastry mixture over this greased and floured pie dish.
Add apples on the top of this pastry mix.
Cover the top with the left over pastry mixture.
Cut around the border of pie dish with a knife and compress layers together with a floured fork.
Brush the top with a little milk and sprinkle castor sugar over it.
Bake at 180° C for about 45-50 minutes or until brown.
Note: Apple pie can also be served with ice0cream over the top.
