Cake is a dish which is liked by everyone. Especially, chocolate cake is a dish which is an all-time favorite with everyone. This chocolate cake when complemented with vanilla flavored frosting is even more delicious to eat. Here’s providing you with a simple recipe of chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.
Preparation Time : 1 Hour

Ingredients:
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
1 cup Sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
3 tablespoons cocoa powder (unsweetned)
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
3/4th cup milk
3/4th cup melted butter
2 eggs
For frosting:
4 tablespoons softened butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
4-5 tablespoons whole milk
Method:
Preheat oven to 180° C.
Grease a 9 inch cake tin with butter.
Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl.
Melt butter at low temperature in a pan and add to the above mixture. Also add milk and eggs.
Mix all the ingredients together to get a smooth batter of dropping consistency.
Transfer this batter to the cake tin and bake at 350° C for 30-40 minutes. You can check by inserting a wooden pick at the center. If it comes out clean, your cake is done.
Cool down the cake and slice it into two layers through the middle.
For frosting:
Mix softened butter and sugar in a bowl and add vanilla essence and 4 tbsp. milk to it. Mix until smooth. Add more milk if required.
Use 1/3rd of this frosting for middle layer, 1/3rd for sides and rest for the top.
Note: Sprinkling chocolate chips on the top of this cake or decorating with fresh fruits is a good option.
