Recipe For Cookies

Cookies also termed as mini cakes or biscuits, are a small, flat, baked biscuits usually containing fat, sugar, flour and eggs. Cookies are perfect fillers between meals and can be made easily at home to be used as snacks or can take away on trips in containers. Peanut butter cookies are the most loved cookies.

Preparation Time : 15 minutes

Serving : 12 Cookies

Ingredients:

Softened butter – 125 gm
Light brown soft sugar – 100 gm
Caster sugar – 125 gm
1 lightly beaten egg
Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
Self raising flour – 225 gm
Salt – ½ teaspoon
Chocolate chips – 200 gm

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees centigrade.
Cream the sugar and butters and when creamed, combine in with vanilla and egg.
Sift in the salt and flour and then chocolate chips.
You can roll them according to what shape you want your cookies to acquire. You can roll them into walnut size balls which would give them more homemade look or you can roll them in thick long sausage shape.
Place them on ungreased baking paper. Cook for about 10 minutes until the edges turn golden round.
Take it out of the oven and leave it to harden for a minute or two before transferring to cool it on a wire rack.
These cookies are ready for you to eat. These cookies also store well if they do not get eaten straight away.

Nutritional Values : One cookie equals 23 calories, total fat 0.9 gm, cholesterol 6 mg, protein 0.3 gm, sodium 14 mg, potassium 6 mg and total carbohydrate 3.4 gm.
